Plakias and the surrounding area has to show many natural beauties but also sights.
Particularly,
besides the main beach of Plakias that holds a great distance, there
are several smaller beaches in less than a few kilometers distance, like
Souda beach, Damnoni, Ammoudi, Skinaria but even smaller, more isolated
like Fotinari, Kalo Nero, Ammoudaki and Klissidi. More of them are
organized and some others are ideal for nudism.
The
graphic small villages around Plakias offer a nice view but also a
better and more specific sense of everyday living and habits of the
local people (Sellia, Mirthios, Rodakino, Kali Sikia, Ai Giannis,
Lefkogia, Asomatos, Spili e.t.c.).
In many of them you will discover
old churches and chapels. During the whole Summer season you will have
the chance to join fairs and festivals that take place in those villages
and feel closely the Cretan hospitality and treatment.
The historical Monastery of Preveli is one of the most important destinations at your tours.
Some may want to visit the old watermills or even the ''Holes'' in the mountain of Plakias.
Whatever
destination you decide to follow having always a good map to advise
you, will offer you a combination of sights, as long as you have always
the mood and the right eye to see it.
